how do i tether my hero to my laptop?

I have a friend who tethered his Palm pre to his laptop for internet access. He has it set up now so that his lap top uses his phone to access the internet wirelessly. Can I do this with my hero? If so, how? Thanks!

You can download a program off the Android market called EasyTether for free, then just hook your phone to a USB port on your PC with your charging cable and you're good to go. If you have a data card as well, and your software for the data card has an option to allow multiple connections, you can even have both the phone and the data card online at the same time for extra bandwidth.
